Astro Kids Nursery School

Astro Kids Nursery School was founded in 2014 which was driven by passion in order to foster a love of learning and educate children to be innovative, imaginative, intelligent, caring and socially responsible of their little community and world. We have incorporated every child’s individuality and have integrated our curriculum Based on the Fundamentals of the Government CAPS and Montessori- based activities.

Our Dynamic curriculum is enriched with the following activities Fundamental to the Foundation of the Learner:

  • Analytical and Thinking skills development
  • Sensorial and Movement based skills
  • Fantasy Play
  • Arts and Crafts
  • Make and Bake
  • Gross Motor Skills
  • Fine Motor Skills
  • Life Skills and Technology
  • All programmes offered are in house, which includes a free-swimming lesson for every learner and an optional Muay Thai Boxercise class per week

The above activities are all critical for the motor, social and emotional development of a child.
We have since developed a proud tradition of Education and Excellence and we are fully committed to Educating and caring for the total child.

Our philosophy is to create a fun filled environment where children learn best by actively engaging with people and things within in the environment. Our learners are involved in hands-on experiences, real life adventures, and assisted discovery as they explore concepts through play. We Aim to develop the whole child – physical, emotional, social and cognitive. Allah has created each child uniquely and they should be treated with respect, dignity and as someone important.

Our Objectives

Our Main Objectives are

• To promote the establishment and maintenance of high quality preschool educare programmes in the Crosby and surrounding areas
• To ensure that proper standards of are always developed and maintained.
• To employ appropriately trained teaching and other staff.
• To provide quality care for the children.
• To provide a safe environment for the children and staff.
• To simulate the children to reach their age appropriate milestones at appropriate times.
• To educate the children in all areas of basic education
• To ensure that the premises of Astro Kids meets the requirements of an adequate preschool educare programme, with the relevant statutory bodies.
• To ensure that those children graduating from Astro Kids are of such quality that they are ready for Grade 1.

Our Secondary Objectives are

• Create a loving environment where the children can thrive.
• Show compassion and understanding towards all children.
• Create an environment where cultural differences are understood and accepted.
• Provide stability for children and parents by ensuring reliable childcare.
• Nurture relationships with the parents and or caregivers of the children to create a home away from home environment.

Our Mission

Our Mission at Astro kids Nursery School is to provide an environment that is stimulating, nurturing and supportive to young children, where young children can discover that they are important and where learning can be fun.

Our Staff

Our staff consists of Three Teachers and Three assistants with experience in early childhood care, Montessori and Grade R teaching concepts.
All our staff are first aid trained and have teaching qualifications ranging from 1-4 year diplomas. Our team are consistently doing courses and attending workshops to help improve their skills.
